A New Look, And New Opportunities

I’d like to welcome you to our new website. Our company has been growing, and this new website captures the imagination and enthusiasm we’re bringing to renewable energy development. It’s a place where you can learn about our wind and wave energy projects. You can browse our project pages, where we describe our assets and what we’re doing to advance them.

This is an exciting time for renewable energy. Three great trends are combining to create great opportunities. The first is economic: global oil production capacity is flattening, and may start a historical decline, while global energy demand is forecast to continue to grow rapidly as a result of economic growth. Improvements in technology are further reducing the cost of producing green energy, making wind and wave projects increasingly commercially viable and competitive with current methods of producing energy. The second is cultural: consumers, especially in the West, are now very aware of the importance of environmental sustainability and the benefits of ‘green’ energy. Consumers will buy it preferentially if there is no major price difference and no major purchasing barriers. Governments now see political advantage in creating programmes to encourage the production of green energy. In addition, the number of green/SRI funds is rapidly increasing. The third trend is legislative: The European Union’s Renewables Directive and State Renewable Portfolio Standards have set out various goals for increasing the percentage of energy produced from renewable energy resources. The Kyoto Accord has placed further emphasis on renewable energy generation.

Finavera Renewables was formed to capitalise on the opportunities that these three trends are creating, and we have assembled a diverse portfolio of assets to achieve success.

Please browse our site, and feel free to contact us with your questions. We are doing more than talking about climate change. We are actively trying to prevent it.

We welcome your help in achieving this goal, as an investor, as a developer, or as someone willing to embrace change for the better.

Welcome to our website and to our company.
